News

Adam tried out for the Parkside Jr. High School 7th grade basketball team this past week.  They open the tryout to 6th graders even though it is a 7th grade team.  Well, he made the team as an Alternate.  He will get to practice with the team, go to games with the team, be part of the the team, but for games he will not dress.  There is the potential that he may eventially dress for games, but no guarantees.  We left it up to him whether he accepted the offer.  It has it's pros and cons.  Pros- 5 nights of basketball, learing a coach's plays, being part of something.  Cons - no games likely, he cannot be in any other basketball league like at Game Time Gym.  He decided he wanted to do it.  He knows most of the boys and thinks it will be fun.  First offical practice as a Parkside Python is tonight.  Oh boy, here we go...

No School today.  Parent/Teacher conferences for Unit 5.  Went to Emily's.  Her teacher said she's doing good.  She's ahead of the game with reading.  That's good to hear!  Adam's school does it a little differently.  The student's lead the conferences.  Actually, I didn't need to have an individual conference with his teachers, but they had a "coffee" where we could come, go over Adam's portfolio with him, have cookies and cider, talk with the teachers and other kids and parents in an open house style thing.  It was nice.  Not necessary since Adam is doing well  in school, but nice.  The Miller's asked about the Bauman's in PA.

This Saturday/Sunday we have a tournament in Fishers, IN.  Emily is staying home.  She doesn't want to miss a Halloween party she's invited to.  The weather is not supposed to be good where we are, so it's best she's not going for her and us :)

Changed another setting

Try it now.  Now I have it open to anyone.  If this doens't work, I dont' know what will.

Fevers Gone

Emily was fever free all day.  Yeah!  The cough is still there though.  She's stir crazy and ready to go back to school.  I think she will tomorrow.  Daddy stayed home with her today.  He needed a day off from school and has the days to take.  He played games and did a little work on his grad class stuff.  I was able to go into work for a while.  That was nice.

Changed a setting

I changed a setting to see if that helps.  If you have a google acct., it should work.  Try to make a comment to see if it works now.

Now we've all had it.

Emily is sick now.  So we have officially all had "it" (whatever it is).  We (Tony, Adam and I) all just had your run of the mill cold symptoms that lasted 4 or so days.  Emily has a fever along with cold symptoms.  Keeping her home from school on Monday since at 9:30pm Sunday her fever was back up to 103!  She always scares us with high temps.

Adam begins basketball tryouts tomorrow morning at 6am!  Crazy!  It's 3 days of it, then he finds out if he makes the 7 grade team.  Chances are not in his favor.  Too many kids, plus it's a 7 grade team, not 6 grade.  They keep 15 players and a few managers.  At the meeting alone I counted 37 6th and 7th graders and all weren't there.  Either way, it will be a good experience.  He has a Game Time Gym team all lined up and a possible Western Ave league to play on if he doesn't make it.  I think he'll be ok with it.

Emily and I made the mistake of bringing out a puzzle yesterday.  1000 piece.  Tony has been obsessed ever since!  and I'm afraid he may never rest until it's done.  He my have it done tonight since the Phillies game is still on.  I hope he leaves the finishing pieces for Emily! :)

Sick

We are all sick (w/the exception of Emily surprisingly!).  Tony started it.  Adam was next.  Now I have it.  Just the run of the mill cold symptions - stuffy nose, sore throat, headache.  Adam has more of a chest cold - he's coughing.  Hopefully, Emily will stay well, but I'm not counting on it.  She was at a sleepover b-day party the other night and I got a call from the mom that one of the girls was just diagnosed with H1N1.  Just Great!  Cross your fingers!

Despite being sick, it was a good weekend for soccer.  BHS won all 3 games at the Jacksonville tourn.  Adam's team won their game too.  Both were due for a win or two.

Senior night tonight for BHS.  Hopefully they win.  Adam, Emily and I are staying home and not braving the cold.

Tomorrow we get a new garage door & opener installed.  Ours finally broke for the last time.  We made it last for as long as we could with Wilbur's and Tony's reinforcement idea on the door.  I guess it was just time.  There's always somethng that needs fixing!

Well, that's all for now.....stay well!

Busy

Busy weekend.
Tony and Adam went to the U of I  vs. Penn State football game on Saturday.  They had a good time.
I spent my Saturday passing out pictures at the soccer complex.  It was cold!
Emily got to keep warm shopping and eating out.  I would have rather done that!

Busy week ahead too.  Tomorrow, Adam has basketball in the am and pm and Emily has volleyball in the pm.  Soccer games this week for BHS and Fusion (Adam).  I start helping out in Emily's classroom 2 times per week, plus watching Kaylee (my sister's baby) one day per week.  Hope I find time for work!
