This week

Not a whole lot to talk about. The week goes fast!

This week Adam has two games at home. The second one he will get to "dress". No guarantees he'll play, but he gets to put on his uniform. School is quite a learning experience this year. He's trying to figure out how to stay organized, remember assignments and get them turned in on time. With all that he has going on, he's forgetting a lot and we are working on ways to help him get and stay organized.

Emily is quite busy too. She has volleyball, a field trip, Brownies, cheerleading and a birthday party this week.

Tony has the BHS soccer banquet on Tuesday and lets not forget the big hunting weekend!.....just what I've been looking forward to! :) (just kidding)

And me, same old, same old. If I can just keep up with all of them, I'm doing good!

Poison Ivy

Tony apparently came into contact with poison ivy while hunting or the day he was moving his tree stand. Saturday night I noticed that underneath his eyes it looked a little funny. I just thought he was tired. Sunday morning, it was worse. The skin just below the eyes was itchy, red and swollen. It's really the only place he has it. He's noticed a few itchy patches, but nothing bad and certainly not like his eyes. I convinced him to go to the doctor Monday and he's been put on medicine. Hopefully, it won't bother him too much and will go away quickly!

Busy week ahead

It's Sunday night and we're gearing up for another busy week. Adam's basketball team has three games this week. Each game day, the boys are expected to dress up in school which means shirt, tie, nice pants. We had to go shopping since we didn't have enough dressy clothes. Not sure how Adam will do all day in school in a tie!

Emily will have volleyball Monday night, Brownies on Thursday, a sleepover/birthday party on Friday, then cheerleading on Saturday.

Tony has, well the normal stuff - school, preparing for health class, grad work and of course, fitting in hunting any free moment he has. Also, there's an ISU basketball game on Wednesday that Tony and Adam will go to (Tony bought 2 season tickets this year).

I have to help in school on Monday and Wednesday, a board meeting on Monday evening and have to get everyone where they need to be all week, feed them and then get them ready for each day. Not to mention get some PCSL work done. Boy, the week sure flies by! I'm exhusted just thinking about it!

Band Concert

Adam had a band concert last night.  First, they had a spaghetti supper, then it was off to perform.  It was at Normal West High School.  Adam's group was short and sweet, but lots of fun because Adam got to play the cymbals during the first song.  He's says they are so heavy!  The second, surprised us.  They set all the snars up on the very front of the stage, then the band started playing and Adam and the other drummers just sat in the chairs with their arms crossed (planned, of course).  Then the band director turned around, stompped her feet and said "drummers!", then they got up and were the hit of the show.  It was very entertaining.  They drummed on everything, even thier neightbor's shoes!  It ended up with the drummers laying on the floor at the end.  I'm trying to get the video I shot on my camera sent via email or posted on the blog, but I can't figure it out???  I'll keep trying.  I'm sure you all would enjoy seeing it.

Adam is sure his father's son!  After the performance and gettimg the cymbals and drum put away, he lost his drum sticks, imagine that!  We looked everywhere, even back on the stage between performances.  He was a younger version of Tony, running around looking for something he lost.  What was funny was that they both just got thier hair cut (by me) and they looked so much alike.  So, I had two "Tony's" running aound searching for sticks.  I'm not sure I can handle two of them........?
